CONDITION OF SALE, 30-DAY AND EXTENDED WARRANTY TERMS
Limited Warranty
Your recycled part from Dick’s Auto Salvage is covered by this limited warranty unless specifically excluded in writing at the time of sale.
General
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the part and only as long as the part remains installed on the vehicle for which it was originally purchased for 30 days, or for longer if an extended warranty applies. This warranty is not transferable or assignable. If any defect is discovered during the warranty period, Dick’s must be informed immediately. All claims must be accompanied by the part and the original sales receipt. Defects must be verified and all work under this warranty authorized by Dick’s. Transportation cost of any part to Dick’s is specifically excluded from this warranty. THE PURCHASER’S REMEDIES FOR BREACH OF WARRANTY SHALL BE LIMITED TO REPAYMENT OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OR TO REPAIR AND/OR REPLACE OF THE DEFECTIVE PART. Such repair, replacement, or refund will satisfy all obligations under this warranty. Any improper use, abuse (including but not limited to overheating or low oil in engines and transmission), neglect, careless handling, damage done by improper installation or repairs, shall void this warranty. Melting of heat tabs installed by Dick’s, if applicable, will be considered evidence of overheating. Labor costs, including the cost of moving attached external parts from the purchaser’s old part to the Dick’s parts, seals, gaskets, fluids and similar supplies are specifically excluded from this warranty.
The liability and obligation of Dick’s under this warranty shall not include any inconvenience, delay, transportation, towing, down time, direct or indirect consequential damages from any defect. This warranty shall not include any labor expense (unless a limited installation warranty is purchased) from any defect. DICK’S DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES OR MERCHANTABILITY AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF FITNESS FOR PURPOSE. No action by Dick’s under this warranty shall extend the original warranty period or alter its obligation. This warranty gives you specific legal rights.
Engines
Dick’s warrants to the original purchaser the internal parts of its engines to be free of defects for a period of 30 days from the date of sale. The parts covered by this warranty are the engine block, cylinder head with valves, cam shaft, connecting rods and bearing, pistons, piston rings, oil pump, crankshaft and bearings, rocker arms, valve lifters, and all other internally lubricated parts. Excluded from this warranty are the fuel components, water pump, all electrical parts, hoses, lines, intake and exhaust manifolds, fuel injector pumps, all other fuel injection parts, and all other external parts. Calibration and adjustment of excluded parts is also excluded from this warranty. This warranty is void if new oil, oil filter, timing belt, timing belt tensioner and water pump are not used in installation.
Transmissions
Dick’s warrants to the original purchaser its transmission to be free of defects for a period of 30 days from the date of sale. The parts covered by this warranty are the transmission case and all internal parts including the torque converter. Excluded from this warranty are the transmission mounts, shifting linkage, flywheel, all other external parts and problems that result from not installing new front and rear main seals when installing the transmission. Automatic transmission warranty is void if new transmission fluid and filter are not used in installation.
Other Parts
Dick’s warrants to the original purchaser that recycled parts sold will be free of defects for a period of 30 days from the date of purchase.
Extended & Installation Limited Warranties Must Be Purchased Separately.
SILVER COVERAGE – This will protect the original purchaser for a period not to exceed 6 months from the invoice date for repair or replacement of the failed part as outlined in our limited warranty policy.
GOLD COVERAGE – This will protect the original purchaser for a period not to exceed 12 months from the invoice date for repair or replacement of the failed part as outlined in our limited warranty policy.
PLATINUM COVERAGE – This will protect the original purchaser for a period not to exceed 36 months from the invoice date for repair or replacement of the failed part as outlined in our limited warranty policy.
INSTALLATION COVERAGE – This will help protect the original purchaser against additional labor costs incurred if a part must be replaced within the time limit of warranted part.
Labor Warranty Claims
Dick’s guarantees no labor costs unless specific installation warranty coverage is purchased and billed on the same invoice as the part for which it was purchased. All claims require prior authorization. Claims will be paid at a rate not to exceed $50.00 per flat rate hour as determined by the Motors flat rate manual. Shop supplies, materials, fluids, and taxes excluded. Repair costs not to exceed original price of part.
